Details

Datasheet

Features:
• Measures resistance characteristics of
irregular shaped objects such as DIP
tubes and thermoformed plastic
carriers.
• Constructed with two 0.125” (3.18mm)
diameter spring contact, conductive
rubber faced electrodes mounted
0.125” (3.18mm) between inside
edges of electrodes to meet ANSI/ESD
STM11.13
• Probe is lightweight and portable.
Conductive elastomer provides
outstanding surface contact.
Test Method:
Attach probe to Model 272A, Set 272A into
“OHMS” mode. Apply pressure to probe such
that springs are compressed but not bottomed
out. Note reading.
(Caution!! Do not apply side pressure to
electrodes. If pins bend the probe will become
nonfunctional.)
Use of specimen plate is optional.
Maintenance:
Contamination on conductive elastomer may
cause inaccuracies when making low resistance
measurements. Contaminated insulators may
cause significant errors at high values (above
10E9). Electrodes and insulators should be
cleaned as required with isopropyl alcohol.
For optimal protection, keep end cap on
probe when not in use and store in bubblebag
supplied.
Use of speciman plate is optional.
Warning: During use, excitation voltage appears
between the two spring contacts.
DO NOT TOUCH THE CONTACTS!
Connections are made to Monroe Model
272A as shown via (2) mini-banana plugs and a
SMB Series coax connector.
